Aldersgate, a nonprofit retreat center, provides facilities for religious, government and other not-for-profit groups to meet in relative seclusion. The center, owned and operated by the United Methodist Church Board of Camping, Outdoor and Retreat Ministries, centers on a three story craftsman style home (built 1892) that will accommodate groups from 10 to 47. Available for day use, overnights, or extended retreats, the facilities include a large main room, dining room, several side rooms and a game room in addition to the sleeping facilities. With the addition of the Buerge Chapel, which can be opened to the meditation garden, a full range of activities can be accommodated including beautiful weddings and on-site worship services. The proximity of the Pacific Ocean and local mountains also make it an ideal base for outdoor day activities.
