Upon graduating
from art school, Buerge began writing and illustrating for 'Southland
Sunday' Long Beach's equivalent of the 'Los Angeles Times Magazine'
printed by The Independent Press Telegam. Buerge later worked
as its art director for many years and used the opportunity to
hire himself, at no additional charge to the magazine, to do hundreds
of illustrations, which was his real passion. This caracature
was used on a cover of Southland Sunday for an article on the
famous comedians. |
